Noel Hodgson

Noel Hodgson

A native Northumbrian now based at Eglingham, near Alnwick – Noel Hodgson also has roots in Lesbury, Howick, Chatton, Wooler, Kilham and Tillmouth. A retiredteacher since 2022, Noel has also produced a work on Gymnastics& Movement handbook for Primary Schools, while also continuing to write his poetry, some of which will soon find itself in a fourth collection of verse – 'Stovies on Monday'.

Other work-in-progress includes his semi-autobiographical novel Dody Man, reflecting life as a young man in the farming community of 1960s Northumberland, and two Western stories inspired by a love for the 'old west', entitled 'Tom's Trail' and 'Passengers of Fate'.

A keen tennis player, veteran rugby player, avid reader and lover of good food and wine, Noel's remarkable zest for life is captured in the pages of his poetry collections Dancing Over Cheviot, Below Flodden and A Grand Land. A true original and an authentic voice of Northumberland, Noel continues to seek fresh challenges – and will most likely find them.
